Program Overview

Students will intern for 2 months during the summer in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Buenos Aires boasts the 13th largest economy among the world's cities and is a major industrial and commercial center within South America. Internship placement is available in a variety of fields and is primarily within small- to medium-sized businesses and organizations. Throughout the internship, students will be enrolled in a 3 credit internship course.

Cost & Financial Aid

Cost
Program budget for summer 2018 is still being negotiated. Please schedule an appointment with the study abroad specialist indicated at the bottom of this page to get discuss a cost estimate.

Scholarship
Students are encouraged to check with their individual college and department to see if scholarships for study abroad may be available. Please also view our scholarship page on the website for additional funding opportunities.

Financial Aid
Students eligible for federal or state financial aid may use their awards for studying abroad. After a student has been accepted to the program, they must complete required paperwork with WMU Financial Aid to apply financial aid to the program costs. It is the student's responsibility to complete the paperwork prior to departure and to maintain compliance with financial aid regulations while studying abroad (i.e., remain enrolled full-time). *Non-WMU students must apply for financial aid through their home university.

Note: Disbursement of financial aid may not coincide with the start date of the program abroad, so plan ahead! Some out-of-pocket costs may occur prior to receiving financial aid for the semester, such as the program commitment fee, passport, airfare, immunizations, visa or residence permit fees (if applicable). These costs vary by program and WMU Study Abroad specialists are available to answer questions about the program budget.

Housing

Placements in apartments or with a homestay are available. CEA ensures that students live in comparatively safe areas of Buenos Aires, but because of this students should expect a commute of 30-45 minutes, depending on their internship placement.
